2007/2/28 sitting, on its way!Kate is almost 5 months old (can you believe that?!?!?!), and I've known of a few 5 1/2 month olds that can sit pretty well, so we've started working on that. Besides, tummy time gets old pretty quick, although she now will do a complete push up onto her hands - such a strong girl! Her sitting up skills have improved dramatically in just a few practice sessions. She can sit unassisted for 5-10 seconds, and most of the time she's pretty stable. I think she'll be doing the tripod thing (leaning forward on her hands while sitting) relatively soon. My goal is for her to sit by the time we go to NY on March 26...
I uploaded a new video just for variety. This is right after I got to hold her for the first time - she wasn't interested in nursing, so we just talked instead. She was such a little peanut! I think the lip smacking is because of all the suctioning that she had after she was born. I'll upload a more recent video as soon as I get it off of Jay's laptop...
Oh, I also put up some more pictures - you must be tired of looking at the Valentine's Day one! another decent nightMaybe Chicago was still affecting Kate earlier this week...whatever, her sleep has improved. Again, last night she ate at 6:45, slept until 12:15, and then ate again at 3:30. She was up for the day at 6:30, and Jay got up with her until she was ready to eat around 7:15. We're both liking this new way of operating - he gets time with her by himself at a time that doesn't interfere with his job, and I get some more time in bed. I'm going to see if she repeats this pattern again tonight. If she does, I think I might try to add a dream feed when I'm headed to bed (generally between 9:30 and 10) - basically I'll wake her up to feed her but she'll be really tired and go right back to bed. The idea is that it'll 'reset' her clock, and maybe she'll go 6 hours from that time before wanting to eat again. Either that or I'll just set her into the every 3 hour rhythm that I'm trying to avoid! Opinions??
OK, so you ladies are telling me that I need to stay home, huh? OK, that can't happen today (doc appt this afternoon), but tomorrow, Friday, and the weekend are all wide open. I guess I'll just stay home...UGH!
OK, the kiddo is napping, so I'm off to take advantage of my free time... 2007/2/27 well, here we areI started going to my 3-6 month support group right after Kate turned 3 months old, and Ann (the nurse moderator) had a few 'mantras' of advice that I've been absorbing since then. At first they didn't pertain, but now - they're all coming into play. The first one that was important was that around 3 or 4 months of age babies get so interested in the world around them that nursing when not at home becomes very difficult because they are so distracted - we've definitely seen that! Another was that when babies are learning new things their sleep falls apart. (See previous entry for confirmation of that in my life!) Yet another is that around 5 or 6 months of age babies stop being able to sleep 'on the run' and need to be at home in order to get in good naps. Like I said, here we are.
It's always been the case that when we're out and about Kate will sleep as needed - in her carseat in the car or stroller, or in my arms if we're at a group or a friend's house. Yesterday around noon Kate wanted a nap, but we were going to be leaving the house at 12:15, so rather than put her in the crib I put her in her carseat, thinking that she might just fall asleep in it (she did so last week in Chicago once, to my amazement). Nope, she was still up when we left the house at 12:15. So I thought, well, she'll fall asleep in the car. Nope, we went to the post office, and she was still awake. After we left the post office she did fall asleep (around 12:40). We went to the hospital for our mom's group, and didn't she wake up when I parked! So, she got about 15 minutes of sleep when she really needed an hour. OK, I figured, she'll eat (probably around 1:30) and then she'll sleep in my arms - she's done this many times at our group meetings. Nope, she was up the entire meeting. We got into the car around 3:00, and she promptly fell asleep. OK, but we needed to go grocery shopping. I've been using the Bjorn to shop for months now, and it's happened before that I've taken her from sleeping in her carseat to sleeping in the Bjorn, so I figured, she'll wake for a moment and fall right back asleep - after all, the kiddo is WAY overdue for a nap. Wrong again! She was awake (very quiet and resting on my chest) for almost the entire trip through the store. She fell asleep right before we got into the checkout line (why did she keep falling asleep right before a transition?!?). I felt so bad that she was awake for so long! She woke up when I put her in her carseat and it took only a few moments for her to realize that it was almost time to eat again. So I fed her in the minivan, put her back in her seat, and then she slept on the way home (I moved her to her crib once we were home). So that was yesterday.
Today, repeat. She was ready to go down for a nap right before we were going to leave for our 3-6 month group, but she didn't fall asleep until we were about 5 minutes away from getting out of the car. She continued to sleep until we got into the room, for a total of about 8 minutes. Then, eyes open. I tried to hold her to get her to sleep - no doing. She played and was in a pretty good mood, ate, and then obviously wanted to sleep. I couldn't get her there; nothing I could do helped. Luckily she wasn't overly fussy, just clearly tired. At 11:00 I decided that we needed to leave a little early because this little girl was now 2 hours beyond the time when she should have taken her nap. She fell asleep the instant I put her carseat in the car, and she's still sleeping now, ~45 minutes later. I'm not sure if she'll wake up soon or take a longer nap...
Anyway, I guess I'm going to have to start 'protecting' her naps a bit more. I wouldn't mind that at all if she had an actual nap schedule, but since everyday is a bit different, it's going to be challenging to plan around her. I mean, her naps are always within a certain timeframe, +/- an hour or so, but that's pretty vague. Besides, she's still taking so many naps...Anyway, I guess Ann's mantras are all right on point!
Kate's sleep last night was better. She ate at 6:45 and slept until 12:30, so that was great. Then she ate at 4:00 and was up for the day at 7:45. This is a rhythm I can sustain - let's see if she repeats it tonight! 2007/2/26 the little munchkinWhat else do I have to write about, right? *lol*
I think that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Kate's sleep has really started to fall apart. For about a week she was waking up every three hours, but then she went back to waking up after 6 or 7 hours, so I was glad. Then it fell apart again - back to every three hours. When we were in Chicago she started out great - waking up once in the middle of the night and then once in the early morning - and then she went back to waking up multiple times. I actually think that was just due to the time change - when we first got there she was going to bed around 10, and then she shifted to 7ish. Anyway, since we've been home it's just been crappy. She's gone to bed between 6:30 and 7, then she gets up around 10:30, then 2, 5, and - her new thing - she's up for the day at 6. UGH! I was so annoyed this morning at 6 when she started cooing. Jay got up and occupied her until 7 when she wanted to eat and take a nap.
So, the question now is, what to do? I feel like we're pretty much back on track with our routine at home (that is, I don't think Chicago is having any impact anymore). I think we may have to start some sleep training...I was hoping that we wouldn't have to do this, but I'm not really into this whole waking up thing. Besides, there's no way this could continue after I start work. I guess I should start doing some reading about the various methodologies that are out there. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery???
It's a good thing Kate is so cute! We were at our moms group today and she was just showing off. Laughing, cooing, smiling at everyone - it was great. We did a little massage and, because she's super ticklish now, she just kept laughing. Man it was cute, and everyone else was surprised - they hadn't heard it from her before and their babies are too young to be laughing like that.
When we were in Chicago Kate got to try out some new toys that belong to my cousin Cathy's daughter, Ellie (10 months old). Her favorite, by far, was the jumperoo. It's a free standing (vs. doorway) jumper, and she just loved it. I have some video that I'll post soon...After Jay heard about it he really wanted to get one for her, so after we picked him up from the airport we went and got one. She loves it! It's pretty darn fun to watch her getting so big.
OK, off I go. It's nearly time for the bath... 2007/2/22 home againKate is an excellent traveler! Two plane trips without crying - what else could I ask for? Like I mentioned the other day she really handled all of the new people and places well. What a good girl! She barely cried over the course of the last 6 days, really - everyone commented on how well behaved she is. I'm thankful for it while it lasts...
We got up pretty early this morning to beat the traffic in Chicago. We got to O'Hare a little before 6:30, and we were through security around 7:30. It was really nice to hang out at the gate with my mom - since 9/11 airports are a little lonely when you travel, and it was fun to be able to continue to visit while we waited for our flights. Her plane left almost an hour before mine did, so it was the perfect amount of time to see her board and then go over to our gate. Managing all of the stuff I packed for Kate was a bit challenging. Obviously (and thankfully) my mom helped me through security (and Jay did on Friday), so that was a huge help. I gate checked her car seat and stroller frame, and that was a little challenging - managing the diaper bag, the back up bag, the Boppy, and Kate while also trying to fold a stroller - sheesh! I managed, obviously, but it was a handful. Flying first class worked out really well, and I'm sure traveling to NY at the end of March in coach is going to be much more uncomfortable. Oh well, I'm glad our first plane trip was a tad luxurious!
Jay made an emergency trip to NY on Sunday because the mom of one of his best friends died suddenly Saturday night. The funeral was today, so he's flying in tomorrow. He misses Kate a whole lot, and I just know she is going to be so excited to see him. She seemed so excited to be home - when she woke up and found herself in her own room it was just ear to ear smiles. Anyway, I can't wait to pick Jay up tomorrow and see that reunion!
OK, the kiddo went down for a nap and I am going to follow her lead... 2007/2/20 family everywhere! For someone like me that doesn't get to see family very often, seeing my extended family is always so much fun. Both of my parents are from large families, so I have lots of aunts and uncles. While I don't really have a lot of cousins, they all have kids so the gatherings are always full. It's been so much fun to see everyone and show off Kate. Saturday my Aunt Carol and Uncle Joe (my mom, Kate, and I are staying with them) had their kids and grandkids over, and it was really nice to see all of them. There were 9 adults and 6 kids (2 under a year old), so it was a full house but it was a good time. Sunday we went to see my Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Bob, and that was an even larger gathering - 9 adults and 15 kids (the only baby was Kate). Normally that family can be a little...wild, let's say, but everyone has grown up and the kids all played so nicely. It was really good to see everyone. Yesterday we went up to Wisconsin to see my grandma, and we spent the day visiting with her. For dinner my two aunts that live up there came over with my cousin (he's 5!). Again, it was great to see them. It's been way too long since I've been out here...
OK, I'm off. Today and tomorrow are going to be quiet, relaxing days. I think all three of us are going to enjoy them. Kate's been doing great, but yesterday was a little rough - I think 4 days in a row of new, stimulating things just started to affect her. We're also short on sleep, so that didn't help. Anyway, I have a plate of eggs in front of me to eat, and then I should shower... 2007/2/16 off to the snow and ice!Kate and I are going to Chicago tomorrow! I'm super excited about the trip, but a little wary of the plane ride alone with a 4 month old...*crossing fingers* My parents both grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and while my dad's family has spread out around the country, most of my mom's family is still there. I haven't seen them since the summer of 2003 for my cousin Cathy's wedding. I've been wanting to get back, and it occurred to me that once I have a job vacation time will probably be at a premium, so it will be really hard to go to visit. So, why not visit before I get a job? My mom has next week off from work (the NY schools have a February break), so she's meeting me in Chicago tomorrow night and we'll make the rounds visiting her family. My dad's mom and two of his siblings migrated to Wisconsin, only about 1 1/2 hours from Chicago, so we'll make the trip up to see them on Monday - I can't wait for my grandma to meet her newest great-granddaughter.
The three of us will be staying with my Aunt Carol, and lucky for me, she has a bunch of baby gear because Cathy has a 10 month old daughter. That really makes packing and traveling a lot easier for me, but I am still packing up for a week with a 4 month old. It's pretty overwhelming, and I've been planning it for weeks now. We're pretty much packed at this point; there are just a few last minute items to add in the morning. I'm hopeful that I'm not going to forget anything too crucial...
I'm also hopeful that the flights will be ok. It's 4 hours between here and O'Hare, so that's kind of a long time to have to sit still with Kate. She'll definitely eat twice and take at least one nap in that timeframe. I'll also have the two hours before the flight to hold her - that's a whole lot of holding! I'm bringing the car seat and stroller frame to the gate to be checked at boarding because I'm hoping that she might let me put her in the seat for at least part of our wait to board. She hates the seat but she might welcome being put down...Anyway, because I'm bringing the stroller frame I'm going to throw my Boppy (a pillow) into the basket for use on the plane. We're flying first class (fancy, fancy!), so we should be pretty comfortable. We used frequent flyer miles to book this trip and there weren't any coach seats available for direct flights. I'm planning on nursing her on take off and landing - especially on landing - to try to mitigate that pressurizatin discomfort for her. The rest of the time...well, hopefully I can keep her entertained! It should be interesting, no matter if it goes well or badly.
I'm hoping the weather in Chicago isn't too awful. We have lots of warm stuff packed, but still, it would be nice if it wasn't totally freezing. I doubt there's much chance of that being the case, though. Hopefully we'll keep Kate warm and toasty!
Well, I don't know if I'll be online again before I get back, so if not - see you next week! 2007/2/14 poor little KateWell, ok, she's not so little - 15lb 2oz (75th percentile)! She had her four month check up yesterday morning, and she's in good health. 75% for weight, 24 and 3/4" (between 50 and 75%), and her head is still small (10-25%)! I love her little noggin! When Claire was here in November I saw this darling spring hat, it was labeled 0-3 months, but it seemed huge (she was only 4 weeks old at the time), so I spent the 5 bucks on it. I just tried it on her - it still is a little big! Maybe she'll actually get to wear it in the spring; that'd be pretty lucky since at the time we didn't know her head was small. I guess I should believe the labels!
Anyway, her appointment went well until...yes, the dreaded shots. After the easiness of last time, I wasn't worried. Wrong! Oh the poor little girl screamed and carried on...it was tragic. She was getting hungry, too, but she was so upset from the shots that she couldn't get it together to eat. After about 10 min in the exam room we finally decided to just go at a time when she was just whining. Back in the car I got her to eat a little bit, and she screamed some more. Man, she was so mad. If it wasn't so sad it would have been kind of cute. So then she slept for a little while, but later on...4 hr and 15 min after her first Tylenol dose, she started screaming again. She must have really have been sore. More Tylenol and 20 min later, she conked out (on me). She slept for 3 hours, poor kid, only waking up for about 7 minutes to eat part way through the nap. Luckily she slept fine overnight. With that long nap she didn't go to bed until 8, and she didn't really eat well before that. So, she woke up to eat at 11 (I was still up and expecting this). She was a pain and didn't go down until 12:15, but then she (and Jay and I) slept until 7:15. Wow! 7 hours of sleep sure did feel nice...She seemed better today but did have one out of character crying jag, so I gave her one more dose of Tylenol for good measure. And she's sleeping a lot today - she's barely been up, really, and she just wants to be held when she is. Adults sure are mean to little babies... 2007/2/12 still loving that videoI've seen Kate roll over now, and she found that she can do it while clothed. It is definitely more challenging for her - that diaper is a pretty bulky item around her hips - but I think she'll get that mastered pretty quickly.
OK, about the video. We uploaded our video file to Soapbox (for free, use 'my soapbox'; it can be publicly viewed or kept private). I added the "universal video" module to my space (it's a gadget), and the module fetches the video. Wa-la! Video on your space.
Update: I just added a second video to Soapbox to see how the module would handle it; it kept showing the video of Kate rolling. I guess if you upload multiple videos you'll need to change the html in the module. It's pretty easy, so that shouldn't be a big deal. 2007/2/11 ok, so I still haven't seen itKate is rolling over for real! Like I mentioned earlier, she rolled over last night for Jay. This afternoon they spent two hours doing naked playtime (and no, of course Jay is not naked! Sheesh, Mike!) and Kate rolled over 6 times!! Jay finally realized that he should videotape it, so...here it is!! Isn't she soooooo cute?!?! I love her expression partway through the roll, it's a combination fear/excitement/surprise. So cute!!!
OK, so I embedded the video in this post but then unembedded it because visitors have to have a certain Flash player and that bugs me. You've probably noticed the video at the top of my page by now anyway... 2007/2/10 a day offYes, that's right, I have today off. Kate has seemed to be having a few issues with Jay again (it probably has something to do with the fact that he's been working non-stop for the last three weeks), and we're just nipping it in the bud. Besides, I've been trying to get some time to myself to work on my job search but it just hasn't panned out when I stay home. Also, I desperately need new pants because mine are all huge and falling off of me (I know, such problems I have). So, Jay and I agreed that today is all him, morning till night. Freedom is mine!
I went out and found two perfect pairs of jeans and that just made my day. Now I'm in a Starbucks, ready to get down to the business of finding a job. I just checked in with Jay and it sounds like things are going fine there.
Oh, before I forget - Jay was doing naked playtime with Kate last night while I made dinner, and guess what? The kiddo rolled from her tummy to her back! Just once, and I didn't see it, but it was exciting all the same. He just told me that she did it again today...what a fun new trick!
OK, I really do need to be productive... 2007/2/9 again, not betterAfter I posted last night I got Kate into bed and - finally! - she stayed asleep for a little while. Not long enough, though...Last night she got up at 12 and 4, and was up this morning at 7. *sigh* I'm totally pooped - I'm waiting for her to go down for her nap in a few minutes so that I can get some more sleep. I wonder how long this is going to keep up...
Oh, btw, I might be on tv tonight! I don't think I ever mentioned it, but my landlord went to NYC to be on What Not to Wear in early December. When she got back into town I went to her 'reveal party' that is at the end of every show. Well, her episode is airing tonight, and I'm betting I'll be in the background. If you watch, look for me to the right of Sarah in the crowd of people. It's on at 9 on TLC. They're having a viewing party tonight to watch it with Sarah, so the three of us will be heading over for that this evening. I still can't believe that I know someone that was on the show...
OK, I should go back to my duties entertaining the baby... 2007/2/8 no, not betterAy, ay, ay, ay, ay...Last night sucked (sorry, Meim, but that's the best word). Kate went to bed at 7, woke up around 9 and ate a little more, then woke up at 12, 3, and 6. I was so not happy. Luckily she slept until 9 this morning, so all told I got enough sleep, just in small increments. Totally annoying, really.
So I was sitting there in the middle of the night trying to figure out what's going on. The day before she had taken that really long nap, so that was my excuse, but yesterday wasn't like that. Totally normal, non-excessive amounts of sleep. We've been talking in my 3-6mo group about how babies need a certain calorie load in 24 hours, and if they don't get it in the daytime they'll catch up overnight. I think that's Kate's problem. She's 4 months old, and so distractible. Her feedings have been pretty regularly spaced through the day, but they aren't always particularly impressive in their length. So, that's my theory - she didn't eat enough yesterday. Of course the problem then was that with all that eating overnight my supply today was really low, and when she went to bed tonight at 7 I thought to myself...hmm, I don't think she's full...Lo and behold, she woke up at 8, I fed her (as best I could since it'd only been an hour since she'd eaten), and she fell back asleep...for 5 minutes. When she woke up I got a bottle together and she just downed 3 ounces. Jay's in there now trying to get her to bed, but she's fighting him a bit. I guess it isn't helping that she just got the hiccups...
Anyway, I'm betting that tonight is another crummy night of sleep for me. She did eat earnestly at each feeding today, so that was an improvement, but I am not hopeful. OK, things seem to be escalating so I guess my time has come... WednesdayIt was another good day out here in Seattle. Nothing too exciting, but it was a fun one.
Actually, it started off kind of badly. Kate went to bed last night at 7:15 like normal, but then was up for a bit around 9ish, I think. She went back to sleep after some soothing...maybe she needed to be fed, but she didn't complain...She woke up to eat at 2:00, and that was just about what I expected - she sleeps 7 hours from the time she ate at bedtime. But then she woke up again at 4:45...*sigh* Normally she'll go 5 hours after that 2am feeding, so I wasn't so happy about the 4:45. By the time I had fallen asleep it was 3, so then to wake up again not even 2 hours later...not good. I went back to bed around 5:30 and figured I might get three more hours of sleep. Nope, she was up at 7:45. I was not a happy camper! She went down for a nap at 9 and so did I...
After getting over my initial grogginess, though, things improved. We went grocery shopping, Kate in the Bjorn facing out. I think she really enjoyed it. She was really alert and taking it all in, and she stayed up for a long time. After the grocery store we walked over to the drugstore and she was still doing great. Lots of older women talked to her.
We came home and I ate lunch and watched "Shark" while she finished up her nap. After she ate she was up for just a short time before she went back to sleep. This is her new pattern with that early afternoon nap - sleep an hour, eat, sleep at least another hour. Yesterday she went down at 12:45, ate at 1:45, was asleep again at 2 and slept until I woke her at 4:30! Maybe that's why she didn't sleep well last night...Anyway, after she got up today we went over to Meghan's. We're loaning her our co-sleeper; she's had Owen in bed with her and her husband, and Mark is at the end of his rope - he wants the baby out of the bed. *lol* Too much grunting and squirming, apparently. So we visited with Meghan and Owen for a bit - he's 8 weeks old now and getting so big!
The highlight of the day, though, was naked playtime. Kate hasn't rolled over in any direction yet, and while that's ok, it's been getting to me. I mentioned it yesterday at our 3-6mo group, and the moderator first reassured me and then suggested that her diaper might be impeding her ability to twist. Naked play was suggested. We did it last night, and Jay and I just were in fits because she's so cute naked. So, this is our new thing. Before her bath I strip her down and she plays, naked, for about an hour on the floor. I have to say that she is way more active when she's naked, and I think that maybe her love of kicking on her changing table and in the bath is because she doesn't have a diaper on. Anyway, no rolling over yet, but definitely more semi-twisting going on when the clothes are off. Not only that, but on her tummy she lifts her butt in the air and wiggles her arms and legs enough to move around on the blanket. I wouldn't call it scooting, per se, but it's clearly the (very) early stages of crawling. Man, she is just so cute naked. Of course I've put down a waterproof pad both nights - and it's been needed!
Last week I was playing with her on our bed and I got her to really laugh, a true 'ha ha ha ha ha,' when I swung her arms around. I kept doing it because it was just the cutest sound. Last night during her naked time it happened again when I wiggled her hips. So cute! Jay was unable to get her to laugh for him, and we couldn't figure out what I was doing differently. Tonight I got her to laugh again (it's so cute, it's hard to resist) and I realized that she's just really ticklish around her hips and on the bottoms of her feet. I'm smiling just thinking about that laugh, because it's so darn sweet. She's been laughing for many weeks now, but this is a more robust sustained sound. Too fun!
OK, I should hit the sack. Wish me a better night of sleep tonight... 2007/2/5 hmm, a title...We had a great weekend. The Sonics game was great, as I mentioned, Saturday at Mike and Melinda's was a lot of fun, and yesterday we went to a Super Bowl party and had a great time. Kate was a trooper through all of it, and although she was up late all three nights her sleep wasn't too screwed up overnight. If anything, it was nice for me because we'd go to bed at the same time, so her 7 hours of sleep were my 7 hours as well. We slept late each of the last three days, too.
We went to my mom's support group today, and that was fun. We're all starting to really get to know each other, so it's a good time. We meet to go for a walk on Wednesday afternoons, and now we're talking about doing an evening or weekend get together too as some of the moms are starting to go back to work. I think I've mentioned that Kate is the oldest, and it's really amazing to see the younger babies - they're so little!! The 6 week olds...oh, they're so cute! We were just there and already I can't really remember Kate being that small. Why in the world does that happen? Anyway, I'm happy to have made some new friends. Oh, and one of the women (her name is Kate!) is going to drop my resume with some people she knows in the local biotech field. So, new friends AND networking opportunities!
OK, I guess I don't have a ton to write about. I'd probably be of more use if I cleaned up the house a bit...ugh... 2007/2/3 more fun, coming up!We're leaving the house in a few minutes to go hang out with Mike, Melinda, Carmen, Matt, and Tyler. Jay's birthday was Thursday (the 1st), so M and M wanted to have us over. Carmen's family will only be there until 6, and then the rest of us are having dinner together. It should be a fun evening hanging out with all of them. Kate's in the middle of a marathon nap, though, so we may have to just wake her to go. If Carmen wasn't leaving at 6 we'd call and tell them that we wanted to wait it out, but since we only have a little time with those guys, Kate's going to have to comply.
Last night Jay, Kate, and I went out to celebrate his birthday. We went to our favorite burger place for dinner - a treat for Jay since he's been on South Beach for almost 2 months now. Kate wasn't thrilled with her carseat, though, so we have to swap out the baby holding responsibilities with the eating duties. *lol* After dinner we went to the Sonics (NBA) game at the arena nearby. We went back to the car, dropped off the carseat, bundled Kate up in her 'bear' outfit, and carried her over to the game. Once we were inside I put on the Moby Wrap and got her out of the bear costume. It was 7:30 by then, and she was pretty tired, so I put her in the wrap and she fell asleep when we got to our seats. There was a little frantic fussing, but it wasn't bad. She napped, and right before halftime woke up. I knew she would be hungry very soon, so we left our seats to beat the halftime crowd. It turns out that there's a room for nursing in the arena! So cool! So, we hung out there during halftime and ended up missing the third quarter because I went to get Jay and I something to drink and was stuck in line FOREVER. Anyway, after she ate I put her back in the Moby, we went back to our seats, and she fell asleep again. The fourth quarter ended up being really competitive and the arena was SO loud. We had earplugs in her ears, but I kept my hand cupped over her ear too to help mute the noise a bit. She slept through the whole thing. *lol* After the game ended we waited a few minutes until she woke up (I love knowing that she takes 45 min snoozes), got her back into her bear outfit, took the Moby off of me, and went back to the car. She was very happy to finally get home and to bed - at 11:00! Because of the late night she slept in this morning until 9:30. No complaints here...
OK, time to mosy. I gotta wake the kid up, I guess... |
